Your local Starbucks has a new gizmo in stock, that you can buy alongside your morning latte. As part of the ongoing partnership between Starbucks and Square , you can now pick up a Square card reader in-store. As with purchasing from Apple, it’ll cost you $10 to pick one up, but they come loaded with $10 of free credit.
So, go grab one, and during your next garage sale, you can let people pay for that hideous old dresser that you’ve had for years with their credit card, rather than waiting for them to fumble through their wallet for cash.
And, in only vaguely related news, Starbucks will be selling something else new: a $1 reusable plastic mug, so that it doesn’t cost much to get one to bring in with you every time you go by. With a $0.10 saving on each order that you get in a reusable mug, that’ll pay for itself in only 10 visits — which is what, less than a week usually?
