Yoko Ono Says “Don’t Hold Your Breath” For Beatles On iTunes

Yoko Ono says we won’t be getting Beatles on iTunes any time soon, or on any other digital seller. Apparently Apple Corps — the company that holds the rights to all of the Beatles music, and had a battle with Apple over trademarks — has not been able to come to an agreement with EMI over terms for licensing the Beatles music for digital download. Apple Corps has released other music over iTunes, but everyone is waiting for the Fab Four.

Said Yoko One:

“Steve Jobs has his own idea and he’s a brilliant guy. There’s just an element that we’re not very happy about, as people. We are holding out… Don’t hold your breath … for anything,”

Not that I ever shop at iTunes, really. I still prefer – yes, really – to purchase CDs and rip ‘em myself (hooray for high-quality, pre-archived backups!). But Apple Corps and Yoko really need to get over themselves already. These are not sacred texts in danger of disintegrating if not packaged/displayed properly. It’s “just” MUSIC, for crying out loud. Alright…it’s the Beatles. But it’s still just music. And there’s nothing stopping folks from buying all of it on CD and ripping it to digital files anyway. So knock it off already with the whole museum curator act and the self-important airs. Sheesh. :-)

This woman has been a cancer to the beetles the day she met Lennon. She will be dead soon and all will work out fine

Bro, He made music for people to listen to

What’s funny about this is you can download the entire box set for free
All over the web! Lol why not try to make some money.

I agree about buying cd’s because the quality is alot better. iTunes should have the option to download the .wav files. I know they could have iTunesHD where they offer what you can get on cd or vinal for less than local store prices.

I remember hearing on tv that Michael Jackson owned the rights Beatles music. Then he end up sell the rights to Sony.

Yoko is just a money hungry biatch. I have no idea what John saw in her.

John just wanted to hook up with her daughter! LoL!

  9. Never was a Beatles fan. If I have any Beatles songs in my iTunes, they are definitely covers.
