Ever feel that typing on your iPad is just too modern and efficient? Yearn for the ancient clacking of a typewriter, something that’s bordering on totally obsolete? Well, check out this incredible design of a functional typewriter for the iPad.
Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen something similar to this. The USB typewriter is a conversion kit that will change manual typewriters into digital input, but even more bizarrely something very similar was offered as an April Fool’s Joke in 2011. That’s right, someone made an actual, functional version of something that was a widely circulated prank — that’s pretty damn cool.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be an awful lot of information about this iTypewriter, so who knows if it’ll ever spread as more than some sort of design project.

has anyone else noticed how out of order the keys are? It’s not a qwerty key layout! while an interesting idea, I see it being more of a hindrance that just typing on the ipad directly
