Later this month, Samsung is set to unveil a new tablet screen, which clocks in at a stunning 10.1 inches and 2560 x 1600 resolution. Since Samsung already provides components for Apple’s iOS devices, we’re all immediately wondering if this will be the screen for the next iPad.
It is a little bit larget than the 9.7-inch display on the iPad 1 and 2, but I can imagine that the mammoth pixel density increase would be extremely tempting for the next iteration of the tablet. If it were to happen, there would have to be a substantial increase in processing power in order to output images at twice the resolution of the original.
Alternatively, now that this screen is appearing on the market, I’m sure a number of other LCD manufacturers will have something similar in the works, perhaps providing Apple with a version that fits the current form factor.
