White iPhone Prototype Shows Up On eBay

IMG 1541 525x700 White iPhone Prototype Shows Up On eBay9to5 Mac spotted this little curio on eBay, which the seller is claiming is a prototype iPhone. The bidding started at $2000 and is already past the $2800 mark. It’s labelled as prototype number DF3039, and is missing a serial number or capacity on the back, like many other prototypes.

It could also be a fake. The photos aren’t very clear, and it wouldn’t take much to get a modded aftermarket iPhone case, and then sell it as a prototype with a huge markup. The fact that the eBay listing is loaded with typos doesn’t do much to make us feel better about the legitimacy of the sale.
