File this under: feature or bug? Yesterday, two developers noticed that if you’re in the iTunes Mac app, and you search the iTunes store for “podcast” or “podcasts”, only Apple’s thoroughly mediocre Podcasts app shows up. What in the world is going on?This bizarre occurrence has been reported widely, and it seems widespread. Searching for either of this terms just brings up Apple’s app, and hitting “see all” doesn’t seem to help. Looking for “podcast apps” does bring up many more, but the one word variant seems to be the culprit.
The question that now arises is if this is an intentional change or not. Has some alteration of the search algorithm meant that this is happening? Or is Apple intentionally pressuring people to use its app? I lean towards this being a bug, that’ll sort itself out given enough time — but how many people will grab a bad app until it’s righted?

What makes a podcast app any better than listening to podcasts in the Music app anyway?
