The Apple TV has been hacked by developers Steven Stroughton Smith and @TheMudkip enabling the capability to run iOS apps. The hack employed utilizes the recently released untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak that has been incorporated into Seas0nPass. They have released screenshots and a video. Stroughton Smith hopes this might force Apple’s hand into allowing apps on the iOS based Apple TV, drawing a parallel to unauthorized iPhone apps back in 2007.
