Verizon has seen sales of the iPhone double in the forth quarter. This according to Fran Shammo, the companies finance chief who spoke at a Citigroup, Inc event.
The company sold 4.2 million iPhones. This accounts to double the number sold in Q3, when Verizon sold just 2 million units. During the third quarter, Verizon trailed AT&T who accounted for 2.7 million iPhone activations.
You have to wonder if Verizon customers, who waited so long for the iPhone, were again caught waiting for the iPhone 5. When Apple released the new iPhone 4S, those customers became new iPhone owners. Either way, it’s a good trend for Verizon and for Apple.
