All this year we’ve been hearing that Verizon is working on a shared data plan, and the company has now come out and declared it. During the company’s quarterly earnings call — which saw them admit that more than half the smartphone sales of Q1 were iPhones — Chief Financial Officer Andrew Davies told investors that data sharing would come this summer.
Verizon’s iPhone sales were 3.2 million, down 1.1 million from last quarter. The company also noted that now 47% of activations come from smartphones rather than dumbphones.
We still haven’t heard how much these family shared data plans will cost — but I’m sure if you have more than a couple of people on your family plan, you can bet it’ll save you at least a little money.
