If you’re feeling shafted by the loss of AT&T’s unlimited data plan, then maybe this will prompt you to switch teams. Verizon has confirmed that they will offer a $30 plan with unlimited data. As Chief operating officer, Lowell McAdam told the WSJ, āIām not going to shoot myself in the foot.ā
This was not unexpected, as the rumor mill has been pointing to a $30 unlimited Verizon plan for all their 3G phones.
If you’re a heavy data user, this will no doubt appeal to you, as long as you don’t try and take a phone call while downloading that two-hour prog-trance album you’ve been desperately wantint to hear.

Lulz at the end of the article. I will continue to enjoy talking and surfing on my grandfathered in unlimited plan
same here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that is an excellent strategy on Verizon’s part to try and win over new customers. It will be very interesting to see what AT&T does. I’m grandfathered in to the unlimited data plan on AT&T but if they every try and take that away from me I’d go over to Verizon.
Ya I would lose my mind lol
I am sure this will force AT&T to possibly go back to the unlimited. They won’t have as much traffic anyways after people go to verizon. I am gonna stick it out with AT$T to see if they start giving better service when they aren’t top notch anymore….
Verizon has nothing to lose by going with unlimited at $30 right now…
I have unlimited data from ol’ AT&T as well. The only thing I’m waiting for is the 4G/LTE iPhone. Whoever gets it first I’M THERE!!!
Most likely next year but did you see LTE prices? 4g for AT&T (HSPA+) should be on the summer iPhone and like T-Mobile I hope the price won’t increase.
I am afraid that if AT&T doesn’t bring back the unlimited plan, that when LTE rolls out, AT&T is going to force those of us grandfathered into the unlimited plans to sign for a new one and force us off the plan… Sort of like the way the price changed from 2G to 3G. Apparently if you had an unlimited 2G plan when they nixed the plan, you could not transfer it to a 3G unlimited plan. Meaning you had to get one of the two new ones.
LTE is a whole new price, even Verizon doesn’t offer unlimited LTE it will be too expensive.
They’re going to have to offer a unlimited 4G/LTE iPhone data plan when the 4G/LTE iPhone gets released (hopefully iPhone 5).
This is a very good strategy by Verizon and i am sure they will win over their competition. Companies in Europe and Asia have been doing this for years.
No surprise they’re offering unlimited data because you can’t use data and voice at the same time, so unlimited is just the right thing to do…so ya.. Duh!!!
