Verizon To Get Native iPad

Currently, if you buy an iPad from Verizon you need one of their mobile hotspots to get online. According to Bloomberg, that might not be for much longer. Francis Shammo, chief financial officer of Verizon Communications told them that the Verizon iPad is set to get a new chip that allows it to jump directly on their network — no more need for a MiFi.

Unfortunately, the article is dreadfully short on details. I assume this will be a 3G CDMA chip, but given the extra size of the iPad, surely they could squeeze a 4G LTE chip in their, and get the iPad on a faster network? Make it a stronger rival for all the Android tablets announced at CES?
