The last week or so has seen Twitter and Instagram head to war, with Instagram killing the support for having its photos show up in-line for Twitter users. Yesterday also saw the popular photography app get a new interface, with an updated fiter — and Twitter returned fire by announcing its own set of image filters.
The new features are built using the Aviary SDK, and include editing controls in addition to eight filters. Unfortunately, the new version hasn’t quite rolled out yet for iOS — word is that it’s pending approval. Hopefully it’ll launch in the near future — but it remains to be seen if Twitter’s use of a fairly common editing API can stand up to a dedicated photography app like Instagram.
