Remember the app Color? The one that raised $41 million in backing, and then promptly fizzled? The one that Apple hired out most of their talent? Well, it looks like the end is officially here for the service, as noted in a small note on the official website, which says:
Alert: We hope you’ve enjoyed sharing your stories via real-time video. Regretfully, the app will no longer be available after 12/31/2012.
In fact, to the best of my knowledge, the app isn’t even available on the App Store anymore.
According to Business Insider, who broke the news, the company has been distributing assets to shareholders this week.
It was only in October that Color strenuously denied that it was shutting down. What a difference a month makes.
