Tales Of The App Store: Armed Heroes Accused Of Stealing Torchlight Assets

Tales Of The App Store: Armed Heroes Accused Of Stealing Torchlight Assets

Any of our readers who are gamers are probably aware of the Torchlight series by Runic Games. With the second installment on the way, the original was an indie success story, and prominent title for gamers on all platforms. Now, it appears as though an iOS title may have stolen assets wholesale from Torchlight.

The app in question is Armed Heroes© Online(3D MMORPG), and the asset theft was spotted by Torchlight developer Travis Baldree. Over twitter, Baldree started discussing the title, and posting the image above. Apparently Armed Heroes has already been reported to Apple, but is still up as of this moment.

It appears as though sound files may also have been stolen, as well as some artwork from World of Warcraft.

Really, if you’re going to steal artwork for your game, why would you be so foolish as to do it from such big titles? That’s just asking to be caught!
