Apple Passes LG For Number 3 Cellphone Spot


Analytics group IDC released an analysis of Q4 cellphone shipments today, and according to their research, Apple has nocked LG out of the number 3 spot for cellphones. What's astonishing is that this isn't just for smartphones, but for feature phones too, which still make up the majority of sales worldwide. While still a very long way from the number 1 spot — an order of magnitude even — Apple's growth is meteoric from last year. Apple Again Breaks Own Records, Sells 18.6M iPhones In Q2

Apple has just reported their second quarter numbers, and yet again they've broken their own records. This quarter saw the company gather $24.67 billion in revenue and $5.99 billion profit, or $6.40 per diluted share, that's their highest ever Q2 results — last year was $13.50 billion revenue and net quarterly profit of $3.07 billion.
