Beats Music has released a new update to their app, adding much needed support for the iPad. The new universal app is optimized for the iPad, bringing with it a fresh new interface that was design for tablets. The upstart streaming music launched in January of this year, partnering with AT&T on a deal that allowed subscribers to benefit from a low-cost family package. For $15 per month, families can gain access for 5 users and up to 10 devices. Individual subscriptions are priced at $9.99. Trying to muscle into an already crowded field, they continue to offer generous 90-day free trials. The crowded streaming music service market that includes Spotify, Rdio, Pandora, iTunes Radio and others can add Beats Music among the available options to consumers. After pre-launch marketing that included the 49ers Colin Kaepernick and the infamous Richard Sherman, timing could not have been better for the Tuesday launch of the new service. Beats Music hopes they can wedge themselves in between the other services by being different. For one, there is no ad-supported version of Beats Music.
