While it is possible to get your iPhone working on T-Mobile if you unlock it, you’re stuck with the excruciatingly slow EDGE speed — but that’s all about to change. T-Mobile is gearing up to roll out its new 4G network, and it’s the right spectrum to work with iPhones. The announcement states:
As part of the company’s network modernization effort, T-Mobile also plans to launch 4G HSPA+ service in the 1900 MHz band in a large number of markets by the end of the year. Network modernization trials have shown up to a 33 percent increase in HSPA+ data speeds as well as improved in-building coverage. Rolling out 4G HSPA+ services in the 1900 MHz band will also provide customers with the ability to use a broader range of devices, including the iPhone, on T-Mobile’s 4G network.
Even though billed as 4G, the iPhone 4S can already use the HSPA+ network, meaning that 4S users will be able to get decent speeds on T-Mobile.
Hopefully this also means the last of the big four carriers will grab an official release of the iPhone with the upcoming launch.

Finally someone is using there head. I’m very excited to here this since I won a Tech store that unlock iPhones all the time. I knew about this earlier in the year but it’s good to see some progress.
