T-Mobile has put up a new “infographic” called The State Of The Smartphone. As spotted by Engadget, this new ad hits out at Verizon and AT&T for having a pokey network in New York City and Atlanta, and then offers this piece of sage wisdom:
The iPhone 4 is a 3G phone.
True story. Despite the ’4′, both the Verizon and AT&T iPhones run on 3G networks.
No, really? I was going to make a snarky comment about how no-one thinks that the iPhone 4 is 4G just because it has the number 4 in its name, but I did recently hear a couple of friends discussing the “iPhone 4G.” Regardless, anyone with a modicum of knowledge knows that the iPhone 4 is exactly that, the fourth iPhone, and doesn’t even pretend to run on a 4G network. And come on T-Mobile, do you really want to start a trend of calling people out for claiming to be 4G when they aren’t? Because I promise that your network is nowhere even near what 4G is meant to be.

T-Mobile is very wrong because the iPhone 4 can actually run on HSPA+ which is what they are calling 4G, however it cannot run on LTE which is suppose to be true 4G.
T-Mobile is really a low tier network and caters to clientele that are challenged with poor credit. The fact that they are claiming their network is 4G is false advertising.
