A photo of purported ads for the iPhone in Switzerland proclaims, “The iPhone will be available in Switzerland from April 4th exclusively via Swisscom. To celebrate this announcement, the historical Swiss telecom company will also change its logo the same day.”
If this release news is correct, expect to see the existing iPhone launched in Switzerland in both 8GB and 16GB versions, similar to the AT&T models available in the US. A 3G version of the iPhone is rumored for later this year, but is still yet unconfirmed. As of now, the iPhone is available in six countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Austria and Ireland. It is widely anticipated that Apple will extend their international rollout throughout 2008. Based on the expectations that Apple will refresh the iPhone sometime in the next few months, it would be somewhat surprising for Swisscom to release the existing first generation model.
