According to a member of the Apple board, Steve Jobs dream was to build the iCar. J.Crew CEO Micky Drexler had some sharp criticism for the US auto industry, calling it a “tragedy in America”, asking who is designing the cars.
No question Jobs was a master innovator and I for one would have liked to seen his take on the automobile. Jobs car of choice was a Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG. It’s no longer available, but the replacement SL65 AMG can be had for $210,900.
As a footnote, Drexler also confirmed Apple’s intentions to further penetrate the living room with a potential Apple television. “The living room they’re dealing with at some point in the near future,” said Drexler.
