Steve Jobs Talks iPad

Steve Jobs started his keynote at WWDC by talking about the success of the iPad. He claimed it changes how we interact with apps and the internet, and has been such a success that one is sold every three seconds.

Just how magical is the iPad? Jobs got an email from a user that using one at a café got a girl interested in him. “Now that’s what I call a magical device.”

The iPad is currently available in 10 countries, and will be in 19 by the end of the year.

There are 8,500 native iPad apps, and 35 million downloads — averaging 17 apps per iPad.

iBooks is an incredibly success, with an average of 2.5 books downloaded per device, that’s over 5 million in the first two months — with more to come.

iBooks is being updated to allow notes, bookmarks, and PDFs. These will be on a separate bookshelf from the normal books, but navigation will handle identically. These changes will come later this month.
