A MacRumors reader emailed Steve Jobs about the issues with losing reception by holding the iPhone 4 wrong, and received this in response:
There are no reception issues. Stay Tuned.
While this may sound dismissive, it does hint that Apple is working on the issue. Currently, the word on the street is that the issue stems from the phone not swapping between frequencies fast enough when the signal is interfered with. If that is the case, then the rumored update to iOS would be able to fix the problem, as it’s not entirely hardware based.
It’ll be interesting to see what Apple has to say in the coming week.

There are no issues. Picked up two iPhones on launch day… Cover every corner with hands, no reduction in signal strength on either phone
Same here… No issues with holding the corners but then again I restored the phone once I got it so don’t know if that helped.
I can’t stay tuned. My iPhone 4 keeps losing signal!
There is NO way that this was SJ. Sounds fake to me.
Jay, why does it sound fake? It is a short one line answer with no details…that is how all the Steve Job’s emails go. There is an issue for “some” people but not all…just watch some of the videos. From the rumor mill it sounds like it is location based…which type of 3g tower you are connecting with and a timing issue with the software. If that is the case, it can be fixed with a software update.
My iPhone4 is absolutely fine as well. I never lose any bars no matter how i hold it
My only beef with ” There are no reception issues.” is that if there aren’t reception issues, why are so many people having dropped calls??
