A matter of hours after we crowned Spotify the best streaming music app for iPhone and iPad, they’ve went ahead and announced that mobile device users can now take part in the unlimited music streaming. Available later today as part of an update to their App Store app, iOS users can stream unlimited ad-supported radio stations based upon their likes and dislikes. This feature was a desktop only feature. So in addition to offer a free variant of their service, they have also upgraded the feature-set.
Spotify Radio is similar to Pandora and Slacker Radio. You select an artist, song or playlist. Spotify will then auto-create a station based upon your favorites. Due to DMCA restrictions, this app is bound to the same rules as the others, meaning you will have a limited number of opportunities to skip tracks. Subscribing to the premium version of Spotify for $9.99, removes these restrictions along with the ads.
