Park Chan-wook — the demented genius behind the Vengeance trilogy, most notably the wonderfully twisted Old Boy — has made a film entirely on the iPhone 4. Called Paranmanjang, which is Korean for “ups and downs”, the half hour short was entirely made on the iPhone. Said Park:
“From hunting for a film location, shooting auditions, to doing a documentary on the filming process, everything was shot with the iPhone 4. We went through all the same film-making processes except that the camera was small.”
The film is about a fisherman who finds a body caught in his nets, and while struggling to free her, he gets entangled, at which points it tells the story of her life and death.
