Speaking at a press conference for his new HBO show “The Newsroom”, Aaron Sorkin was peppered with questions about his plans for writing the screenplay based off the Walter Isaacson biography of Steve Jobs. Sorkin plans to focus on some element of tension or obstacle in Jobs life and promised the film will not be a straight biography.
“Drama is tension versus obstacle. Someone wants something, something is standing in their way of getting it. They want the money, they want the girl, they want to get to Philadelphia – doesn’t matter … And I need to find that event and I will. I just don’t know what it is”, said Sorkin.
Sorkin will have help from Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, who has signed on to assist with the technical aspects presented in the movie.
The other Jobs movie is said to focus on the early days of Apple computer. It will be interesting to see exactly which moment Sorkin will use as the foundation for the film.
