According to Nielsen, the smartphone war continues to progress, gradually pushing the dumbphone out of the way. Its number suggest that as of February, 50% of all new phone purchases are smartphones, at an all time high. Looking at that graph above, you can bet that it won’t be long before the dumbphone loses parity.
The other interesting bit of information is the smartphone OS breakdown. Over the last three months, 91% of new smartphones sold have been on Android or iOS, with 5% no Blackberry, and 4% for Windows Phone and other options. Compare this to a survey of all smartphone owners, and you can see that more and more people are flocking to iOS.
