Samsung Fires Off Video Ad Mocking iPhone 5 Line-Waiters


I know a bunch of our readers are dedicated line-waiters, and preparing to line up for the iPhone 5 release. Samsung has continued its scathing series of attack ads and has just released a new video aimed squarely at those waiting for the new device.

As with previous iterations of this campaign from Samsung, the iPhone 5 is never explicitly name, but the features that people are waiting for are called out: digital connector, bigger screen, LTE.

And, in all fairness, yes the line waiting is a bit insane — but there’s a real sense of camaraderie and excitement (and commiseration) in them.

Honestly though, who has ever said “is that a Samsung?” with a straight face?

  1. LOL… I had the S3 and it’s nice but the plastic and the carrier and Samsung branding all over it simply ruin the device…

  3. As much as I love my iPhone (I’ve owned every version and will buy the iPhone 5) I too think people who wait in line are dumb. Sorry.

    That video is SO lame and a waste of money on their part. Do they actually think they are going to change people’s minds about which phone they’re going to get? I only waited on line once for the iPhone 4. I had a reservation to pick it up at Roosevelt Field mall and I had to wait in the stifling garage for two hours!! Never again!!

  5. I never get the reasoning behind the plastic comments about the S3. Who dose not put their phone in a case and hide the whole damn thing anyway. Love the iPhone but this commercial is right on the money. By now we have all seen IOS 6 reports or downloaded it, there is not a person out there that did not expect more from Apple.

  6. If you have to keep reminding people that the next big thing is already here then your probably not it.

  7. Samsung can’t make a single ad these days without comparing themselves to the iPhone. Seems they have an inferiority complex.
