If you have any sort of interest in the fate of the publishing world, you’re probably following what’s happening with The Daily pretty closely. Current estimates put the launch date at January 19, but according to Yahoo this date might be shifted a little. Their sources say that Steve Jobs will be at the event to launch the new service, and that it will take place at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Murdoch is rumored to be willing to sink some $30 million into the project.
The most interesting rumor we’ve heard (via Business Insider) is that there will be a website for The Daily — probably this one — but there won’t be a front page. In other words, the articles will be hosted online, but will be invisible to normal browsing or search engines, the only way to get at them will be from a link from someone who has the app.
