Building up from other rumors we’ve heard today comes a new report by way of AppleInsider. Their source at AppleCare informs them that AppleCare staff have been told to brace for a massive load of iOS related inquiries beginning Monday October 10. Their apparently expecting 8x as many help calls as normal, focussed primarily on iOS. The most likely conclusion to draw from this is that on or near October 10th is when iOS 5 will head out.
AppleInsider is up front in admitting that they’re not 100% sure about the source who provided them this information, but it doesn’t seem out of the question in terms of when we could expect to see iOS 5 land for most users.
This would doubtless be in advance of the iPhone 5 release, if true.
