Rumor: Apple Poised To Quietly Tweak iPad 3

Digitimes, who have a pretty dismal accuracy record, are claiming that Apple might slightly tweak the 3rd generation iPad to prevent overheating. According to the publication, not only will the battery be changed, but the lens hole enlarged slightly, saying:

The sources said the new iPad’s battery is being revised, which will help prevent overheating issues and could possibly make the device slightly lighter and thinner than previously designed. However, no comments were offered as to why the lens is being enlarged.

While Digitimes is a pretty unreliable source, Apple has occasionally made tiny hardware tweaks without telling anyone. After all, they released an updated version of the iPad 2 with a slightly different A5 chip without any fanfare. If Apple did the same thing here, it would be a minor tweak that the newly manufactured models would have.
