Best Gaming App for purchase
Okay, so I am a Texas Hold Em player, so I am biased towards these kind of games....usually for phones they are something nearly to pass the time. Texas Hold Em for the iPhone goes much deeper, sexier and funner (wait, that's not a word...). WOW. The graphics are awesome.
Single Player Mode really is the key to this game. The multiplayer functionality is fun as well, but a career mode in a Phone Poker App is impressive. The game play is smooth....you can let it run out as normal as you like, or speed up through parts of the game that you don't want to wait on.
Folding with the flick of you pointer finger is fun in itself. The scrolling feature for betting is intuitive as well.
I recommend to card players, and novices alike. Great App.
Pandora Perfection for the iPhone
Wow. How seamless this app was! I have had a Pandora account for about 2 years, and have recently not used it much...that was until i bought a 3G and found this App!
Logging in the first time in a while through my 3G, I was amazed to see all my old stations there. I loaded up the QuickMix, and away we went. Userability is a breeze, and so refreshing to see for an App like this.
The voting system is incorporated very cleanly and form fitting to the Pandora player in this App. I couldn't be happier, and is easily (HANDS DOWN) the BEST App currently available.....and to make it even better, its FREE. Kudos!!!
Overly Sensitive
Great idea, gone bad.
It's your typical helicopter landing game. Controls are designed that tilting up and down drops you down, or pulls you up. Left and right leans allow you to lean in the direction. Problem is that the sensitivity is set to high. 99.9% of the time, you will crash and burn either by going to fast, or running out of fuel..(you run out in about 4 seconds, giving you little to no time to land).
On top of that, there is only 1 map/level/whatever you want to call it. Very disappointing. I do not recommend.
3 weeks of 3G!!!
I've had 3 weeks to get used to my first iPhone, The 3G. Now is an appropriate time to give it a proper review of the things that I like, and dislike, about the 3G.
At first, i think we were all a little frustrated with the performance of 3G out of the box. The 3G connection has not been the most consistent since launch, but I have noticed improved overall coverage. The speed that 3G allows iPhone users to have at their fingertips is impressive to say the least. It really makes the iPhone finally more than just a phone, but rather a computer in your hands.
Likes:
- VERY user friendly
- Design is improved over v1 iPhone. I like the sleeker presentation and feel of the 3G in the palm of the hand.
- Email, Internet and App functionality all impressive (speed, form and functionality all intersect with the 3G)
- Glass is very scratch resistant
- Customer Support has been stellar to date.
Dislikes:
- 2.0 software is LAGGY. Awaiting a patch to fix this - I wish I could give the software rating a 3.5, rather than a 4.
- Dropped calls happen in areas where 3G signal is low (i.e. inside buildings, etc).
- Apps have been failing (2.0 software issue I believe).
- Data plan seems a little over-priced....But worth it. ;)
I would suggest it to any person who wants something more than a phone. I am not paying for a phone, IMO. I am paying for a multimedia device, and web browser, a place to share photos with others, a Digital Music Player, and a phone...all in one, perfect package.
Perfect Protection
I'll start off saying that I did not install the invisibleShield myself....I was lucky to have a Zagg kiosk right outside the Apple Store in King Of Prussia, PA. I payed $10 extra to have them install it, knowing that I do not have a steady hand. It does take patience to apply if you want it perfect...and if done right, it comes out FANTASTIC.
The material provides a VASTLY improved grip to the 3G. No more risk of it sliding out of my hands. It provides FULL coverage, and really is 100% scratch proof.
You can hardly tell the material is there. It does not effect the brightness of your screen, nor does it enhance any external glare from sunlight, etc. If you want to keep you 3G in mint condition, there is no other product out there that can do it like this. It is worth the money, and the time.
It is what it is....
Helped me find me keys, and function in the dark quite a few times already. It's nice to have a quick burst of light at your finger tips when you need it. It isn't any LED headlamp, or MagLight quality, but it'll do!
Decent Weather App, but lacking
Worth the free download, Weatherbug provides a little more detail than the basic weather app on the iPhone. GPS location is neat. No animated radar is a let down. App is buggy however. Also has had a problem with quickly loading daily details/warnings, etc. Sometimes had to try more the 2-3 times to get it to load while in the program. Had to re-download recently, as the app just stopped working altogether. Good idea, but not thrilled with it.
