Love this new iPhone
Speed is awesome. From booting up, to opening/running apps, the speed is very impressive. Camera is sweet. I uploaded 2 comparison pics in the 3GS category if anyone wants to see the difference--the huge difference. Taking and editing video is awesome! Voice control was spot on, as well, with contacts as well as ipod. I highly recommend this device!
The best of the Speedometer apps
I have tried HowFast, Speed, and SpeedBox, and this app is the most accurate, and the easiest, to use. Just open the app and there you go! Tap in middle to switch from MPH to km/h. The other speed apps have tended to fluctuate 10/11 miles per hour either way, but Speed seems to only fluctuate around 5 mph either way. Speed is pretty accurate and starts quickly, and it's easier to read than HowFast, which has the classic needle reading. HowFast's needle is usually all over the place, sometimes staying in the general area of the true speed. Speed and SpeedBox both have the digital look. Speed has no instructions, setting or options. Just tap and go! The best thing about this app, other than it's accuracy, is that it's free!
Great IM app!
This is a really great app that supports Yahoo, MSN, ICQ (didn't know anyone even used that one any more), AIM, Google Talk. After you set it up with all your accounts, just tap the icon and it loggs you into all the accounts. You can change your status to Online, invisible, Busy, Away. It shows everyone on all your IM buddy lists, tells you who's online and who's not. Plus, you can set up a chatroom all your own with Palringo's own group chat feature. Simple to use, nothing fancy, I give it 2 thumbs up!
Nice Weather app
This is a really nice weather app with an easy-to-nav user interface. The main screen shows the 5 day forecast, with options at the bottom for 2 day, Now, a weather map, and local airports. The only thing I don't like about it is to get the current temp, you have to tap the Now button, whereas some other weather apps have it on the main screen. All in all, tho, this is a really nice weather app.
What Were They Thinking?
I have tried and tried, to no avail, no matter how patient I am, I cannot land this chopper! The sensitivity is way too high. I can't believe that anyone has been able to land the chopper. There are no settings to change anything--levels, sensitivity, scenery, etc. This game is free, and it's a good time-killer, but it becomes boring very soon. I don't recommend it, unless you just want some time to kill. The sound effects are ok, though. Other than that....thumbs down!
This is a really good app
Tried this app and decided to keep it. It's pretty accurate and really fast, and integrates with google maps to show you where it's at. The only drawback is you can't use the maps interface to actually get directions. You have to bookmark it, then go to the Google Maps app on the iPhone to get directions. Other than that, this app is nice.
Really good app
I have used this app along with Midomi, and this app has a nicer interface, with recent searches, previews with the option to purchase on iTunes, and album cover artwork. Very nice!
This app is cool!
With this app you can sing/hum a song, say the words/titles, type in the title/artists, or just hold the iPhone next to the speaker to 'grab' the song title from cyber-space! This is the ultimate music search.
dot game--simple and fun
My daughters always liked to play connect-the-dots with me, so when I saw this game I had to get it.
It's a simple game with 2-player or 1-against-iPhone.
The kids think it's cool, so I'm happy!
iWant--don't iwant it anymore
I've had this app for a week now, and it works great for finding most things, but it only find 2 restaurants, and no bars/clubs in my area, and there are a dozen bars and dozens of restaurants. I hope there is a similar app that can be more accurate!
