Great Free Weather App

In an App Store full of overpriced and overhyped weather apps, some of the greats go unnoticed. Weather Bug is a fantastic free weather app that allows for GPS pinpointing to allow the user to view a current radar picture above their location. The app also lets the user view a weather camera that is located around the zip code of the user. The user can see exactly how it looks outside without leaving the comforts of their home.

Weather Bug could certainly be improved even more through updates and will hopefully allow for moving radar images in the future.

More than good!

I have been using iPhone's weatherbug for about 3 weeks now and have yet to have a problem or complaint with it. It's more than just weather, its complete weather station. It gives you a not only the tempature, but also the wind strength, wind direction, humidity, dew point and many other things. One really cool and unique thing about it is it can feed into local cameras and show you live up to date pictures of the weather in the area of your choice. Overall a great FREE app to download from the App store! Go get it!

Great FREE weather app. The use of GPS location to find your current location and then give you the exact weather. This app can only get better with time.

This is a good FREE weather app. It uses the GPS location to find your current location and provide weather information. Future updates will hopefully include a more detailed weather report, hour by hour, and a moving radar map.

Worth the free download, Weatherbug provides a little more detail than the basic weather app on the iPhone. GPS location is neat. No animated radar is a let down. App is buggy however. Also has had a problem with quickly loading daily details/warnings, etc. Sometimes had to try more the 2-3 times to get it to load while in the program. Had to re-download recently, as the app just stopped working altogether. Good idea, but not thrilled with it.

OK for quick temp info

I like that it uses the GPS to find your current location. The one thing I hope they update is to put motion into the radar.

I love this app. It is for weather geeks like me who want to see more than just the temperature for the day. it shows wind direction, humidity, dew point, heat index, it even has alerts.

When you goto to RADAR screen you get a nice local view but you can also use the 2 finger zoom and move around the map with 1 finger.

WeatherBug: Not the greatest, but a step up

WeatherBug is an application that gives more location-based weather information that the standard weather app found on iPhones and iPod touches. To get weather for your current location, you can either enter your zip code or have WeatherBug use the GPS or Triangulation features to locate you.

Once you have set the location, WeatherBug displays lots of information, including the current temperature, wind >speed, weather alerts, and High and Low temperatures for three days (these can be tapped for even more information). There is also a tab at the bottom of the screen that shows radar for your area, using Google Maps as the background. You can also browse through pictures that were taken in or near your selected area.

There are a few improvements to the app that could be made with future updates, such as displaying information for more days than three. Also, the photo browser could include more photos, as well as ones that were taken closer to your location; some of the ones that I was shown in were in Virginia and Ohio, and I live in West Virginia. Also, the radar doesn't seem to work very well - even after a very large storm yesterday afternoon, the radar still looks the same as it did when I downloaded WeatherBug. One more downside is that the app has a tendency to reboot the iPhone when it is launched; when the icon is tapped, the Apple logo immediately appears.

Not very excited by WeatherBug

I could be because I live in Hawaii, but the radar doesn't seem to work at all.

The current weather conditions are nice. A lot more info than the native iPhone weather app.

The live cameras are okay but doesn't give much info unless you live near there.

In the end, I ended up deleting and I am waiting for a much more useful free weather app.
