Returning This One....
This case immediately caught my eye when I was buying the iPhone at a local AT&T Store. I was looking for a slim fitting leather case that would last me a few months, so I picked this one up. As soon as I activated my iPhone, I slipped it into this case. The first thing I noticed was how snug the iPhone fits inside, shown by the fact that when the case is turned upside-down and shaken, the phone does not fall out. The case is made from premium leather and feels wonderful in your hands, and thankfully the belt clip nub can be unscrewed.
Unfortunately, the usability of the iPhone in the case is the deal-breaker here. At the top of the front-side of the case is a horizontal leather strip that unintentionally covers the earpiece when the iPhone is pushed all the way down in the case. This muffles the iPhone's already weak call volume to the point where I must remove the phone from the case to use it. For this reason, I am returning the case.
Seems fine to me
So far this case works perfectly for me. Very rigid, but adds little bulk. I have no degradation in voice quality. Looks classy.
Actually not bad at all
The biggest gripe I had with this case WAS the screw in knob. I had the fear of it unscrewing and dropping my phone. After a little torque from some padded pliers, problem solved. Hand tightening won't work. Other than that,it's a nice classic case, not loud and obtrusive like some other models.
OK, but not great
The belt clip makes a nice secure connection to your belt, but the knob that fits into the clip is VERY hard to get in there. I have to push the release lever in all the way with one hand just to get the knob to go into the clip all the way. The release lever is very hard to push in (better too hard than too easy I guess). I have to really get a good hold of the clip to release the phone.
The knob comes separate from the phone sleeve. You have to screw it in and it starts to unscrew very easily. I'm going to have to check it every time I take the phone in and out to make sure the phone does not fall out of the clip with the knob still in the clip.
The thing that makes this case worth keeping for me is that it feels like my phone is very secure on my belt.
I don't recommend this case.
Looks good...Sound is bad..
I purchased this being the last case left. It looks great! but, the pillar running across the handset speaker creates a gap and it makes it really hard to understand anyone talking. I also found that the mic seems muffled by the case. I just take the phone out when i want to use it.
