Apache Lander

Apache Lander looks promising at first glance - a game in which one steers a helicopter through the skies to safely land on a base. However, after a few seconds of playing the game, I realized that if it wants a place on my iPhone, it needs serious improvement.

First, it lacks gameplay. There needs to be more of a point to the game, and more levels to navigate through, each with a different course and look. It would also be nice to be able to use the app in landscape mode - this would give it a better look and make it more fun.

Similar to Super Monkey Ball, Apache Lander is extremely hard to control. There needs to be a setting in which the user can adjust the sensitivity of the accelerometer - making the game much more entertaining. Also, in order to land on the base, the helicopter must go down perfectly - if it's even slightly titled, the helicopter exploded and you must start over.

It took awhile but now I can land it pretty often.
I missed lunch the first day but I mastered it!

You have to have a steady hand or it will frustrate you and you will blame the game or give it a poor rating.
But it's you...not the game. lol

I'm not sure whats wrong with you people, try it again, try more, you'll get it, you will love it.

General: This is a simple game, where a helicopter is to be landed on a pad using the accelerometer. Lean the iPhone left and right to move copter, and lean towards you for an upwards acceleration.

Visuals: Visuals are alright, nothing amazing. It'd be cool if they let you use more than 1 copter model, more backgrounds, or even custom backgrounds.

Audio: There's only 1 copter sound as far as I know, so it might get a bit annoying. No music or background noises.

Other: The difficulty lies in the controls, you have to really learn to nail the aiming and timing of the acceleration to have fun playing. Steep learning curve but definitely addicting.

Final word: Give it a few minutes, and you might get hooked.

I downloaded this game thinking "all right this looks fun" but what I got was "oh man." this has got to be the worst app I have downloaded I could not even get the apache to move (except once and it just went out of control). Also I crashed 4 times and out of those times after I crashed on 2 of them it opened up safari and took me to there website? I am going to have to give this app a 1 star I wish I could give it a -1 star but 1 will do.

I have tried and tried, to no avail, no matter how patient I am, I cannot land this chopper! The sensitivity is way too high. I can't believe that anyone has been able to land the chopper. There are no settings to change anything--levels, sensitivity, scenery, etc. This game is free, and it's a good time-killer, but it becomes boring very soon. I don't recommend it, unless you just want some time to kill. The sound effects are ok, though. Other than that....thumbs down!

OK, if you're like me, you're probably looking for cheap/free games on the App Store and, if you see one to your liking, (if it's free) you download it. That's what I did with this game. I tried it out. Well, first of all, the controls weren't that easy to understand (and I speak English fluently). Second - the game doesn't work. It just doesn't do anything. I hardly believe anyone actually made it - and after that... Well, nothing. The only good thing is that it is free - otherwise you'd really feel scammed.

This game is simple and very addictive. You can't compare these games to the big console games. They are meant to entertain you and kill some time while waiting for your wife or kids at the stores or that sort of things. What I would like to see is information by the developer regarding how to gain a higher score. What determine the score. I have no problem landing the chopper and does not bothers me the crashes, come on guys is just a game. I think that the sound and exploration is cool. I would like to see rescuer mode, were you rescue anything, people, animals or transport objects. Perhaps retrieving the astronauts after splashing in the Atlantic. In all I find the game ok, Enjoy it!,/p>
