When discussing the Dell Streak yesterday, John Gruber casually dropped the following statement:
That’s almost twice as much as a good iPod Touch, and if you wait a few weeks to buy the Touch, you’ll get one with a Retina Display and dual cameras.
Gruber is far and away the most accurate source for Apple’s new releases. He’s so tight with Apple that he knows exactly what’s going on, and peppers his stories with references. I’ve only seen him go wrong once or twice, and he has an incredible success rate. If he says there’s an Apple event soon, with a retina display iPod Touch? I believe it.
I’m desperately hoping the retina display is Apple’s next big thing, and it makes it to the iPad for 2011.
Great post! Could you give some examples where he’s predicted correctly–and some where he went wrong?
Who’s the person who played around with iPad specs just a few days before its release? Trying to make a fool of everyone…
i want a free ipod please
