More than a year after the iPhone edition launched, the Pinterest app has finally been updated to work on the iPad. That’s right, you can now natively stare at other people’s recipes and DIY projects from your iPad! Woohoo!
This comes simultaneously with Pinterest launching an Android app, and is part of a large app-based push for the popular social network.
Unfortunately, it still seems like the native app is designed primarily for observation rather than interaction, and there isn’t a good method of pinning content from iOS. I have seen workarounds using some confusing bookmarking methods, but it doesn’t look like there’s a good way to do it directly from the app. In fact, one of the first reviews of the new version points out “Wish it came with a button where you could just pin from pics in your iPad photo gallery.”
Seriously, you can’t even upload an image from your iPad? That’s pretty sad.
