 Peering At The iPhone 4s Gyroscope Through An Electron Microscope

iFixIt have done the mother of all teardowns. Pairing up with Chipworks, they took the gyroscope from the iPhone 4, and ran it through an electron microscope.

The iPhone 4 uses what’s known as a MEMS gyroscope, which rely on tracking vibrations. How small of a scale is this whole thing used at? The final picture has a scale of 50 micrometers, which is half the thickness of a human hair.
