Pebble Watches Start Shipping, iOS App Still Stuck

lV294fl Pebble Watches Start Shipping, iOS App Still Stuck

If you’re one of the more than 68,000 people who backed the Pebble smartwatch, take heart, because starting today units are going to be shipping! While Pebble missed its original September ship date considerably, the later date of January 23rd has been hit on the dot.

The first batch of Pebble watches is being sent out to the first backers today, with the rest going out as soon as possible. Only 500 watches are headed out today, here’s hoping the rest can land as soon as possible. Tracking info will be sent out by email, posted on your GetPebble account, and then there’s this.

While Android users will be happy to know that the Pebble app will be available tomorrow, things are a bit delayed on the iOS front:

Pebble iOS App is not yet available in the App Store. We submitted 2 weeks ago and have been responding to reviewer feedback. For the moment, iOS users who receive Pebble early will be able to do notifications/Music control but will not be able to install watchfaces or upgrade to the latest PebbleOS until the app appears in the App Store.

Here’s hoping it gets fixed soon.
