Last month we reported on the Pear Kickstarter, a cool little gadget that would add Bluetooth to any dock-connector powered set of speakers. Unfortunately, the project has been pulled because of accusations of trademark violation.
On a blogpost at Pair with Pear, the people behind the project give a brief glimpse of what’s going on, saying:
Apparently someone(not Apple or iCarly) says we were infringing on their trademark with our logo.
This means the project has been pulled from Kickstarter. They promise they’ll be back soon, and you can sign up for email notification of this if you want. What’s not clear is if people who backed the project originally are still considered to have backed it, or if they’ll need to do so again.
Hopefully Pair will be back on track soon, be it with a new name or new logo — and maybe support for the new dock Apple will roll out with the new iPhone?
