Patent Hints At Aperture For iPad

6a0120a5580826970c01538e94eeac970b 800wi Patent Hints At Aperture For iPadPatently Apple have spotted a patent that hints that Apple will be bringing their much loved photo workflow tool Aperture to the iPad. This patent is actually pre-iPad, dating all the way back to 2009, and is technically a patent for user interface elements on a touchscreen device.

If I had to guess, they used Aperture just as an example of an Apple piece of software with a UI that they could show off everything they’re trying to patent. If this was awarded before the iPad even existed and it still hasn’t been ported to iOS, then I can’t imagine this patent is the secret unveiling of Aperture for iOS — as useful as that software would be.

I hope this will give Adobe the final push they seem to need to get out an iPad version of LightRoom. I hear Photosmith is great, but it’s still not a true portable LightRoom. Terry White, release it man – you know you wanna :-p
