Osmos is one of those classic iOS games that’s been popular for years, but hasn’t seen much in the way of updates of late. However, now the app has been updated to version 2.0, and with this major milestone comes multiplayer! Not only can you take on your friends, but you can do so between iPad and iPhone, so it doesn’t matter which device they have. Here’s the official description of what’s new:
Big 2.0 update — introducing Multiplayer!
★ Play Osmos against your friends and enemies in 6 different arenas: Ambient, Warped Chaos, Impasse, Solar, Epicycles, and a new level type unique to multiplayer, Antimatter Impasse.
★ Play locally or over the Internet: local play is over Bluetooth or Wi-fi, Game Center over the internet (random matchmaking and invitations supported).
★ 15 new multiplayer-specific achievements.
★ Support for local iPad vs. iPhone play.
★ An optional handicap system to help keep competition friendly. Be kind to young motes!
★ Players can now tweet their achievements and broadcast challenges to their friends and followers to take them on in multiplayer.Plus: *lots* of sweet audio/visual improvements, both to the UI and in-game.
We’ve been working long and hard on this update, and we’re really excited about it! We hope you enjoy it. If you do, a 5-star review would be greatly appreciated! (If you’ve rated Osmos before, please remember to “refresh” your old review.)
