No New iOS Apps and Updates Until The Weekend

news shutdown No New iOS Apps and Updates Until The Weekend

Did you wonder why the last few weeks were so jam packed with interesting updates and new apps flowing in on a seemingly daily basis? That’s because every year, Apple shuts down iTunes Connect over Christmas, and everything grinds to a screeching halt. This year is no different, and from December 21-28, nothing will go into, or out of, the App Store.

As a reminder, iTunes Connect will shut down December 21–28 for the winter holidays. You should not schedule pricing changes that take effect during the shutdown — these changes will not be reflected on the App Store and your apps or In-App Purchase items will become unavailable until after the shutdown. In addition, releases that are scheduled to go live between these dates will be delayed.

So, while we just saw major updates from apps like Tumblr, Instagram, the Wall Street Journal, Facebook, and some big old price drops from people like EA, that’s all that’s happening on the app front until the weekend.

Fine, I’ll go spend time with my family if I have to.
