Every now and then, a rumor pops up that is so bizarre and stupid that we have to cover it. Ok, so a lot of people are talking about Apple maybe making a low-cost international phone, possibly using plastic to cut costs. Unlikely, but vaguely within the bounds of possibility. Then, along comes DigiTimes and says something jaw-droppingly bizarre.
However, other rumors are circulating that the entry-level iPhone will adopt a chassis mixed with plastic and metal, with the internal metal parts being able to be seen from outside through special design, the sources noted.
No. Just…no. Can we get a picture of Jony Ive facepalming? There has to be one somewhere.
Admittedly, the Graphite iMac from 2001 was mostly see through, but there’s no way in all hell that Apple would make an iPhone that looks like a telephone from the 90s.
If you’re really desperate to see the guts of your iPhone 5? iPhone5Mod has a translucent body kit. Use that instead.
