Social gaming and microtransaction giant ngmoco has been purchased by Japanese company DeNA. DeNA runs an incredibly successful social gaming network in Japan, and ngmoco will be the western beachhead for their services. ngmoco is planning on opening their Plus+ platform and combining it with DeNA’s mobage platform, with plans to bring their games cross-platform to Android, too.

We’re also branching out beyond just iOS devices, introducing existing and new products to Android devices. We love iOS and our commitment there hasn’t diminished, we’re simply adding Android into the mix, bringing the very best titles from ngmoco, Freeverse, Miraphonic, Stump Town & our plus+ partners to these amazing devices.

The deal is said to have cost the Japanese company $400 million in cash and stock.
