Apple’s Newsstand for iOS received a new feature today, specifically for the Hearst family of publications. Those who subscribe through Newsstand will receive their magazines days before it is available through print or other digital editions.

Hearst vast array of magazines includes Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Popular Mechanics and Seventeen. According to TechCrunch, the arrangement varies by publication, so the advance release on iOS when compared to digital platforms including Amazon Kindle’s Marketplace will vary.
This is certainly good for Apple and customers who either read their magazines through Newsstand or might do so given the advantages of receiving publications early. Smart move by both parties, who might see increased numbers as a result.
