In advance of the UK release of the Apple iPhone on November 9th, gadget publication T3 have confirmed that firmware release 1.1.2 closes the "TIFF exploit" that could be used to jailbreak and hack iPhones running software version 1.1.1.

The update introduces support for dozens of languages. It's unclear as to when Apple might release firmware update 1.1.2 here in the US. The release of firmware 1.1.1 struck a nerve with many iPhone users, after it removed all third party applications. Apple has stated they will release the iPhone SDK in February, opening up the iPhone and iPod Touch to officially support applications.

The iPhone releases in the UK on Friday with O2 as the exclusive carrier.
