Next week will mark the launch of iPhone Software Update 2.0 and more importantly the launch of the App Store featuring third party applications for both the first generation iPhone and the new iPhone 3G. It's also crunchtime for developers hoping to get their apps in the store for the launch. Apple has issued a deadline of July 7th as the last date for applications that would like to be considered for inclusion by the grand opening.
Apple has asked developers, "To ensure your application can be considered for the exciting launch of the App Store, submit your application by 12 PM PDT, on July 7, 2008. We will continue to accept applications after this time, however your application may not be available until after the launch of the App Store."
