Apple is expected to release iPhone Software Update 1.1.2 in coordination with the UK and Germay release of the iPhone.
As reported earlier this week the UK release of the iPhone comes today and will ship with 1.1.2. This update fixes the 'TIFF exploit' and introduces support for dozens of languages. The 1.1.2 software update was found among the downloads section of Apple's website, so one can assume that the update will be available via iTunes as early as today. Hackers had used the 'TIFF exploit' to "jailbreak" the iPhone, many of which do this to add third party applications. The release of iPhone Software Update 1.1.2 continues what Apple CEO Steve Jobs called, "a cat and mouse game". Apple is scheduled to release an iPhone SDK in February opening up the iPhone to officially supported third party applications.
