iPhone Release Not Planned For WWDC
According to Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster, Apple will not use the WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) to launch the iPhone.
WWDC opens June 14th in San Francisco and Munster believes Apple will use the WWDC to launch new MacBook Pro notebooks. "We believe the Street would react positively to such announcements," said Munster. Regarding a new widescreen iPod, Muster speculated, "Expect Apple to launch new widescreen iPods with the iPhone's multi-touch technology at a price-point below the iPhone's $499," said Munster."Like $399."
